Count me lucky or unlucky
Last week, I went to my favourite outlet in JP which was KFC to dine with my boyfriend in the evening. As usual, we left our bags to chop seats at a table and went walk. My boyfriend queued to buy food while I went to the bank to deposit money. When we returned to our table with the food, a lady sitting at the next table suddenly spoke. At first in my mind I thought she wanted to get my KFC coupons. My guess was wrong. She advised me in Mandarin, "Next time don't just leave your bags lying around like this. Your bag almost got stolen by a stranger man." I was like, "Huhhh, what happened." I was shocked because I did not that people would want to steal my bag as it had not happened before. She gave more details on what had happened. A middle-aged man wearing a blue top had been walking in front of the tables and went up to ask her when my bag belong to the lady's friend (I guess it's because out tables were pretty close to each other). Then the lady anwered no and the strange man just said that it belonged to his friend. He carried my bag and then wanted to leave the spot. The lady felt that something wasn't right, and shouted to him that he cannot just take the bag like this. She stopped the man from taking away my bag! The man was scared bah and he just left.
Gosh, if the lady didn't stop the man, my bag would be gone le. I was so lucky to have a such a lady sitting next to my table. She got a good sense of justice!! Usually other people will just bochap bah. The morale of the story is: Don't leave your belongings unattended. Although my bag does not contain my handphone or wallet, I will still be very sad if it is stolen cos the bag was a present given to me by my uni friends and my pencil case also was given to me by my sec 4 friends.
Just another lazy Sunday afternoon
Sunday is my favourite day of week! A day without school, hours of tv-watch, lots of time to destress and relax.
Being at home makes bubu feels really relaxed that she just feels like slacking all day without doing much work. For today, I try to study cos there is an upcoming quiz this sat on advanced characterization of materials. I remember 2 years ago, I said very firmly that I will not take this module as my prescribe elections when I reach year 4. Ironically, I am seen taking it in this module's lectures. How a person's mind change over 2 years ah. Not really change much la... because I was compiled to take it due to the nature of my FYP project. Will be doing lots of XRD and XRF on my samples.
Apart from watching tv on Sunday, I love to surf the net. I cannot live without a computer. Too much reliance on it to satisfy my curiosity, to do my school work, and to connect to friends (even my sis loh).
Challenging my own limits
Haha, this title sounds funny cos you may be mistaken that I am doing some stunts or trying out extreme activities bah. Nonono, I just testing my tolerance level. If you manage to catch a glimpse of my fingernails, you will go "woooo... so long... how come never break ah..." Yah, I am lazy to cut all since the school starts. Now, they are getting longer and longer day by day. Guess I'm cutting them soon cos I have problems pressing the buttons of lifts and may hurt my friends accidentally. Another self-challenge I am taking up is to grow the longest length hair of myself. My hair really long long now (haven't reach my waist) but it is the longest for as long as I remember. Got lots of comlain from my parents because they keep finding many strands of hair on every spot at house. Heehee~ long hair ma, tend to be very obvious to be seen.
Bubu's current dream mobile phone
Currently possess a Nokia 7520 handphone which I got in early 2003.
Yesterday, I went to Pitstop cafe with my RSPHI friends after our volunteer work at SADeaf. My chinese course 1 class ended earlier than usual, YEAH, sometimes too draggy and I tend to go to the sleepy mode. As usual, my sign language cannot make it, I would beg Edwin (my new hansamu gakusei) to write down what he want to say on paper instead of signing to me (My receptive skills really cmi). There was birthday celebration with cake + candles for our dearest RSPHI coordinator Patricia and Kallang Centrehead Vanessa (I hope I got their names right) at SADeaf before we headed to the cafe.
First time @ a boardgame-cum-cardgame cafe
Feeling: Excited (first time mah) and scared (of high prices and boring games played)
I tried the chicken chop with black pepper sauce and iced lemonade. I took up the Pitstop package along with my friends which comprises of 1 main course, 1 soup of the day, 1 drink and 2 hours of gaming.
Food: Not bad la. Not fantastic, not awful
Soup: Yummy!!! Much better than the NTU's Canteen A's western food stall.
Drink: I like it cos it's sour... heehee. However, it took quite a long time to be delivered to my table. Guess they really squeeze lemon juice to it bah.
Games: Played 3 games (but i cannot remember all the names esp the first one).
The first game was to have a secret animal in ur "house" and make other players remember your animal calls. When turning over the cards and yours happen to be the same as another player's, u need to imitate the other player's animal calls. A simple game to understand but hard to imitate certain player's animal calls esp LiLing's "burrp-burrp burrp-burrp". Mine was easy, just a "meow".
Second game was called category 5. Oh ya, I am the biggest loser la cos I accumulated the high penalty points just after 3 rounds into the game. The game was pretty hard to explain, if you are interested u can try it out at the cafe.
Game three was called swap. Pretty similar to UNO but more interaction with players. We get to pile our hands onto one another's when the "slap" card is out. I am so sorry that my fingernails have hurt many people. The "swap" card acts like a wild card and also allows u to sway your deck of cards with one player. Haha, so most of the time, the cards which you got do not eventually be really yours in the end.

RSPHI rocks~*
Went for my 3rd recruitment talk today. It was conducted by MOE in promotion of the MOE teaching award. Received a goodie bag with a meaningful story on its stick-on notepad and postcard. The Starfish Story goes like this...
As the old man walked the beach at dawn, he noticed a boy ahead of him picking up starfish and flinging them into the sea. Finally catching up with the boy, he asked why he was doing this. The answer was that the stranded starfish would die if left until the morning sun. "But the beach goes on for miles and there are millions of starfish," said the old man. "How can your effort make any difference?" The boy looked at the starfish in his hand and then threw it safely into the waves. "It makes a difference to this one," he said.
After thoughts...
A little effort does make a significant difference to a person's life. Many flashbacks of my teachers from primary school, secondary school, JC. How the teachers have touched my life really warms my heart... Happy Belated Teachers' Day to all my teachers!
