~*~ Yes, I did it again ~*~
A spontaneous decision... just like one year ago.
My permed hair is back again and this time I went to a different hair salon and try out digital perm. I'm an impatient person, sitting at a salon for 3 hours is torture for me especially with all the burning sensations and smelly ammonia-based chemicals on my hair.
I am very satisfied with the outcome... looks much better than the previous one and doesn't require much maintenance. Yeah!!!!

一同学习的一个早晨
昨天真有意思，一同与同学一起练习如何操作TEM2010。看似简单的步骤其实没有想象的得来应手。 搞了一小时多，我们才正式开始做 gun alignment, stigmatism correction 和voltage centering。我的记性很差，把次序都弄乱了。当遇到不对劲的情形也不晓得该怎样去修正它。幸好还有同学在身边扶持才终于有小小的收获，能够看到我的样本的乳山真面目。哈哈，真开心。。。制造了那么多的样本，首次清楚地看到了hydroxyapatite的grains，是polycrystalline的哦！我们一同努力合作的成果就save在电脑里。谢谢大家，辛苦了！！

Celebrating 25th Wedding Anniversary
Went to eat Ah Yat Restaurant at Turf City yesterday to celebrate my parents' wedding anniversary. Our favourite eating place recently because of the enticing half priced live sea creatures offer. Had lobster, crab, scallop and spinach. The standard of cooking was disappointing... the crab not very well done, too much butter and flour, too little salted egg. Lobster was okok la, I don't really like the ingredients, I prefered the cheese-baked ones.. but my dad don't like... Scallops turn out to be super fresh and sweet.
"This is how is like after 25 years of marriage," my mum commented. My dad was at least walking 3m ahead of my mum. So, I went to hold my mum's hand and said, "Nevermind, you still have your daughters to hold your hand." Interestingly couple, I think my dad pretty unromantic... no present for my mum and leaving my mum to walk on her own. I definitely wish this will not be the scene when it's my 25th wedding anniversary.
TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) the terror
Starting to get hands-on using TEM-very expensive equipment!! I guess I'm a pretty timid person, not very confident on operating it... too many steps and details to remember in order to handle the equipment. I can't believe that me and my friends spent 2 hours to just get the TEM to start working. My heart sank when the vacuum inside TEM was lost when I was attempting to remove the sample holder. I thought I have spoilt the equipment. Luckily got colleague to help in troubleshooting.
TEM is not so easy for bubu. I must jia you!! I have a TEM slot on saturday... let's pray hard that nothing goes wrong.
My work so far....
Did a review on a SCIENCE journal article dated 6 years ago. It was on N-doped TiO2 being photocatalyst in the visible light region. I think I know more about photocatalyst and some characterisation techniques. Can anyone tell me how to do the calculation of density of states?? Lost bubu...
Mugging for my 3rd quiz now... Advanced Ceramics. A bit interesting module but very messy as there are too many lecturers for this course and 4 out of 5 were from A* institutions... It's irritating to have to listen to their great findings when I don't even know the fundamentals of the stuff that they are talking about. I am not even in the field, cannot decipher their jargons... ARGHHHH~
